Ah-Ha!
Some of you read my unkind words about the "Fat Bag of Guts", Tom Jackson, and a couple even went as far as to defend him.
I still maintain, in my opinion, the man is an idiot. As I was perusing the web for ANY Steelers related material (There seems to be a shortage for a team going to the AFC championship game) I came across this little tidbit about the Fat Bag of Guts' comments after the Hated Patriots loss:
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/hiestand-tv/2011-01-18-tom-jackson-contradiction-radio_N.htm
If that doesn't sum up the character and credibility of The Fat Bag Guts, I don't know what does.
Back to the fact that articles on the Steelers are few and far between: I know the Steelers aren't talking to the NFL films guys in protest of their treatment by the NFL this year, but are they staying away from any other outlets as well, or all of them? I watched NFL Tonight on ESPN last night and the only mention of the Steelers was as the opponents of the Jets (In a half hour show). What gives?
Unfortunately, I don't have the NFL channel and therefore don't get to see their coverage, but are they mentioning the Steelers? Is this an ESPN thing?
I did find some stuff (very little) on the web sites of FOX and CBS, and a nice piece at USA. Where are you guys finding some good reads about the upcoming Steelres-Jets game?
GO STEELERS!

when i saw your title
I thought i would see this
but alas the spelling is different.
To your point, the Steelers get absolutely no love from the national media anymore. and now that theyre playing the Jets, expect Pittsburgh to be totally ignored by ESPN and the like up until Sunday.
Is your linky "Turn On Me"?

a friend sent me this
Before the Steelers’ playoff game with the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, Holtzman reported the Steelers might use a gadget play
“Two Steelers have told me, if they catch the Ravens in the right defense, they have a trick play ready to go today that they’ve never run before,” Holtzman said prior to the game.
He added it was a play on which somebody who typically doesn’t pass would throw the ball — and that it wouldn’t be passing wide receiver Antwaan Randle El.
At Tomlin’s Wednesday news conference, Holtzman ask him how much extra time it takes to prepare for coach Rex Ryan’s Jets defense.
“It depends on whether or not you give him my plays, you know,” Tomlin said with steely eyes and without elaboration.
After the news conference, Holtzman declined comment on the matter.
Against Baltimore, QB Ben Roethlisberger was the lone Steeler to throw a pass. Pittsburgh did run two end around with WR Mike Wallace for minus two yards.

Holtzman probably said
hell nah, dont send me to Pittsburgh anymore.
"Franco made that play because he never quit on the play. He kept running, he kept hustling. Good things happen to people who hustle."
hehe
they also ran fake end arounds a couple of times with the ball going to the RB instead. Bearing in mind how little we got when Wallace was handed the ball, perhaps they should have used the fake version more often.

Steelers depot has the video
Tomlin has a career in politics ahead of him I’m pretty sure. He does such a great job of diplomatically answering questions and avoiding answering ones he doesn’t want to answer. If he wins a second Super Bowl I’d imagine you could pencil him in as the next Congressman from, well, pretty much anywhere in Western PA he fancies ;)

I watched that and wondered what the back story was on Tomlin’s curt response.

Here's a great story about Ryan Clark
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Dont-forget-about-the-Steelers-Ryan-Clark.html
I love this part:
Watch him this Sunday when the Steelers host the Jets in the AFC Championship. Polamalu, Harrison, etc. are always discussed when this Pittsburgh defense is put on stage—but don’t forget about Clark. He might just be one of the most underrated safeties in the game.
One of the great disappointments of a football game is that the cheerleaders never seem to get injured.
Regarding ESPN coverage on Steelers...
… you have to remember that ESPN is located in the “New England States” …. nuff said???
Until the NFL expansion team, “The Connecticut Cocks” (see note) is created, The Patriots are the ESPN home team. “The Cocks” will be another bad bird team full of and flying thru hot air. NOTE: you didn’t think I meant 6" cocks, did you?
I have personally worked for and met the executive staff of ESPN. They are just as arrogant as any Pats player/coach you ever heard, saw or spat upon. Have any ideas where Belicheat may have acquired his SpyCams?
