Mmmm...delicious hate.

I live in Pittsburgh West, and it seems as if the rule is 90% of people who aren't Steelers fans HATE the Steelers. I'm a fairly charming dude, so normally it comes out as jokes, but I've been threatened a few times.

Whoa.

I was the only Steeler fan in attendance at the SB XLIII, and I had genuine fear in my heart when I started celebrating the win. I mean, I'm sure I could have been a bit more gracious, but after all the yapping, and the turncoats, and the threats, I didn't exactly feel magnanimous.

This year? I don't get out as much, but the people I live with (barring the one GB fan who nobody likes anyway) are actually pulling for the Steelers. Even the Pats fan. Even the Cards fan. So in order for me to get properly pumped up and indignant, I have to turn to the internet for some hatey hate. It's mind blowing the hate that gets spewed forth from the tubes - and it's exactly what I need to put myself in the "fuck you, motherfucker" mindset that I thrive on.

If you go to a Steelers bar, or live in Pittsburgh or any other market where the Steelers Nation is predominant, enjoy the game. You'll be among friends and a victory will bring on New Years Eve-like conditions. If not, may I recommend following suit? It'll help you weather the slings and arrows, and make victory that much sweeter.

Underdogs. Pfeh.
