BTSC Steelers Six Pack: Pittsburgh-New England Preview Edition
IX - Here's your Week 8 TV Distribution Map. Vast swaths of the country will see the Steelers host the Patriots in the late game. Not everyone though, including myself.
X - The Boston Globe breaks down the Steelers-Patriots matchup fairly thoroughly, with a heavy emphasis on what the Steelers like to do schematically on both sides of the ball.
XIII - In his breakdown of Sunday's marquee matchup, Peter King hones in on Mike Wallace and the fits he should be able to give New England's secondary.
XIV- The Patriots and the Steelers both took wide receivers in the third round of the 2009 Draft. Thankfully they opted to select Brandon Tate instead of Mike Wallace.
XL - I made Week 8 picks over at SB Nation Pittsburgh. Yes, I'm taking the Steelers to win on Sunday over the Patriots. Don't forget to make your picks in the BTSC Pick Em League, set your fantasy lineups, etc.
XLIII - I like the Steelers chances to run the ball successfully much more if MLB Jerod Mayo can't play due to the injury that limited his participation in Wednesday and Thursday's practices.
Bonus Link: The Week 8 edition of the National Football Post's Friday Football Forecast was filed yesterday. Each week, myself and 31 other beat writers and bloggers give their take on the upcoming game of the team they cover.

Isn't the Steelers/Patriots game national? Are the Seahawks playing at home against an AFC foe? That would be the only reason it didn't get shown there.
I have basic cable and don’t have Sunday Ticket or whatever it’s called. Anyway, last week, the only 1pm game available to me was the Browns/Seahawks 6-3 snoozefest.
You win, universe.
nope
it’s national unless you live in the 100 mile radius of the Cleveland Skid Marks..
almost everywhere in the country is carrying the game except a small area in Cali, and a way smaller area in Ohio

And I’ve got Indy at Tennessee (yawn) followed by Bengals at Seattle. Going for Front Row.

geez....
i wish the Browns owner would just move the team again lol…they have been the bane of my existence this year.
at least someone turned me on to some good streams last week that don’t freeze up all the time..so there’s that.

Ohio should just get rid of the two excuses for teams they have and get to start over again. Maybe give them a team in another 50 years, since nobody in the state seems to know how to build a winner.

Down goes Ras I Dowling.
The predraft BTSC darlling is out for the year on Injured Reserve. The weak Pats secondary just got a little weaker. Lets hope Wallace can exploit them even more.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Yeah but I think we need to hold the Pats to 24 or less to win this one.
Hoping, of course, that I’m wrong and Ben goes on a rampage.
This is the second non-primetime Steelers game that has been shown up here in the past two seasons
Unfortunately, the Bills are playing on FOX at the same time and I’m going to have to battle one of my friends for the TV.

Patriots Secondary
Boston press is reporting that the Patriots have released Leigh Bodden.
I was jealous of the Patriots when they signed the guy, as I thought he was going be very good. Now he’s available to anyone who wants to pay him the rest of the $2.1 M he is owed this year.
they cut him
then they lost their all rookie guy for the year the next day..
i was thinking that too…maybe snatch him up, but it’s too late in the week to help with the Pats game

I'm watching the game at a cool sports bar here in Rocklin (Sacramento) CA
We’ve been meeting here for 3 years, pull in between 50-90 people, projection screen on the wall, our own room just for Steelers fans. Good times…
I'll be hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from May, 2011 to Sept., 2011, to raise money for charity. For more info, please visit: http://thf2.wordpress.com

Thanks for the TV Map Mike!
It’s a nice change to get the game on regular TV. Can’t complain too much about the streams, it’s better than nothing but the regular TV is much better.
I read your NFP write up, it was vastly different than your counterpart from NE….who seems to be awfully confident that the Pats are going to torch us today. I like your thinking better of course.
