After such a satisfying win, Homer is confused. Who should get the mythical BTSC game ball? The offense was better than it's been all year. The OL gave Ben lots of time and opened holes for the running backs. Heath Miller was All-World. The wide receivers were all over the place, making key catches, especially on third down. Ben was terrific, hitting 72% of his passes for 350 yards. And the running backs made some huge plays and protected Ben against the blitz.

On defense, the DB's finally exorcised the demon Brady, playing right up in the faces of his receivers. The linebackers played great pass defense when they weren't putting pressure on Brady and sacking him, or stopping the run. The DL stopped the run and played a great game, including a tipped pass and forced fumble that led to a safety.

And they did all this without Hines Ward, without James Farrior, without James Harrison, without Chris Hoke, without Willie Colon, and - for the last quarter and a half - without Lamarr Woodley. 

Homer thinks maybe we should invite Oprah to holler "EVERYBODY GETS A GAME BALL!" Even that Sushi guy, who probably feels bad because he kicked off out of bounds and missed a field goal. But that's too easy and too much like the Special Olympics, where everybody gets a medal. And while the Special Olympics are a wonderful thing, the Steelers are a different kind of "special."

Homer would suggest giving two game balls for Sunday, and both going to guys who didn't play. The first would go to HOF Coach Dad, who retooled the Steeler secondary to allow them to neutralize their nemisis. The game has NOT passed him by. Brady does NOT have his number. And giving it to LeBeau is a way of giving it to each and every DB and LB who played in pass coverage.  The other game ball would go to Aaron Smith. This is a team in transition. Honoring Smith is just another way to pass the torch. It was his pup, Ziggy, who scored the final two points on the safety. 

Maybe Homer is on the sentimental side, and he seems to be forgetting 7 and 83. So he's opening this up to everyone. Who should get the game ball for this most satisfying team victory?
