Another one Bites the Dust...
Injuries this year have been rampant. I can't remember a time when the Steelers were hit this bad with the injury bug. The only silver lining is that only one has been season ending since the start of regular season. I'll break it down.
Preseason: Promising young rookie Baron Batch tears his ACL placed on IR. Byron Leftwich broke his arm and was also place on IR.
Week 1: starting RT Willie Colon was lost to a triceps injury for the season.
Week 2: starting DE Brett Keisel goes down with a knee injury he may not be able to play against the Titans
Week 3:starting LT Jonathan Scott leaves the game with an ankle sprain. Starting RG Doug Legursky leaves the game with a shoulder injury. Back up RT Marcus Gilbert dislocates shoulder comes back in. Bryant McFadden out with injury.
Week 4: This was and is the bloodiest of the year so far. Starting QB Ben Roethlisberger sprains his already hurt foot. Starting ROLB James Harrison breaks orbital bone in the face will not play for some time. Backup ROLB has a quadriceps injury that will keep him out Week 5.Starting RB Rashard Mendehall hurt his hamstring in the game won't play Week 5. 3rd Down RB Mewelde Moore has a high ankle sprain will not play Week 5. Cortez Allen right ankle sprain questionable.Starting NT Casey Hampton right shoulder contusion questionable. Starting DE Aaron Smith mid-foot sprain likely out. Starting WR Mike Wallace rib probable.
Yeah here is the scary part your staring line up on offense and defense if non of these guys return for Week 5.
Offense:
QB: Ben Roethlisberger or Charlie Batch (depending on health)
RB: Isaac Redman, ( Johnathan Dwyer spelling)
OL: LT- Trai Essex, LG- Chris Kemoeatu, C- Maurkice Pouncey, RG- Ramon Foster, RT- Marcus Gilbert
WR: Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown, and Hines Ward
Defense:
DL: RE- Cameron Heyward, NT- Chris Hoke, LE- Evander "Ziggy" Hood
OLBs: ROLB- Lawrence Timmons and LOLB- LaMarr Woodley
MLBs: James Farrior and Larry Foote ( Stevenson Sylvester spelling at times)
CB: Ike Taylor and Keenan Lewis
Safeties: SS- Troy Polamalu FS- Ryan Clark
If it is any consolation Mike Tomlin hopes Legursky, Scott and McFadden are back. I am very worried however about a team who is already not playing up to par in the run defense staring 3 new starters on the D-line. Harrisons injury might be a blessing becuase it allows him to rest his back as well as allows the Steelers to see how Slyvester will play. (he will get some snaps) Timmons will be okay at ROLB he is athletic enough and strong enough for all phases. I can't believe I actually want Scott back but he is an upgrade over Essex and I don't think Legursky gets his starting spot back. Fans might be happy to see Redman start we will see if he can legitimately carry the rock like a starter. It still early in the season maybe some of the reps for the young guys will hep out later in the year. And I repeat it is still early in the season!

Kiesel SHOULD return
Heyward should still get plenty of reps though.
Looking forward to seeing Sly in action.
Stay thirsty my friends.
Timmons at OLB...
Something about that is just exciting…
HERE WE GO STEELERS!
"Our Father, who art in Pittsburgh, Football be thy game. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, at Heinz Field as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, a stellar D and forgive us our bogus fines, as we (sorta) forgive Goodell who trespasses against us. And lead us not into defeat, but deliver us a Victory. For thine is The Steelers, the power and glory of climbing the STAIRWAY TO 7."
the answer is Isaac Redman
it always is
"Franco made that play because he never quit on the play. He kept running, he kept hustling. Good things happen to people who hustle."
Really excited to see Timmons, Redman, and Sly Guy

Excited for Timmons and Sly
but not at the expense of Deebo, wish it was more natural. Time for the Redman legend to grow! ;)

My question is....
Will they turn Timmons loose to rush the passer? Or will he have to drop back into coverage on most passing downs due the lack of speed at the ILB positions?

Probably will be playing a lot of coverage

Thats what I suspected
So why not just leave him in the middle where he is comfortable and is a playmaker? Would Foote be that much of a drop off outside? Why make two positions weaker?
