Max Starks Saved The Steelers in 2008. Can He Do It Again?

Max Starks began 2008 as an overpaid after thought. When Marvel Smith went down Trai Essex went in instead of Starks.

The '08 Trai Essex at left tackle experiment lasted less than two quarters as Max Starks started over straight 30 games.

In many ways, Starks saved the Steelers 2008. As he returns in 2011, the question is, is it fair for fans to expect him to do it again?

Versus Suggs, Starks is playing for one more big contract. Prime time audience and elite opponent are ready for him to dig deep and have the biggest game of his life (thereby saving Ben’s).
