Setting: Small renthouse somewhere in the Arkansas River Valley.
Sunday October 8, 1972. That is the day I first got a glimpse of the Pittsburgh Steelers who were playing the Dallas Cowboys. I remember my dad talking up his team, the Cowboys. Mind you, I am little over four and a half years old. I chose to cheer for the Steelers that day. A competition I guess, against dad. The Steelers didn't win but I remembered.
Saturday, December 23, 1972. The day of the Immaculate Reception. I didn't get to watch that game. Back then we had one television, which was in black and white. I remember seeing the Immaculate Reception live on replay. The most amazing play of all time. Another Steelers fan was born.
Sunday, January 18th, 1976. Super Bowl X, Dallas vs. Pittsburgh. Dad had built us our own house by this time and we actually had a color television. What a day! Dad and I had been talking a lil smack all week leading up to the game. During the course of the game, dad, told me to shut it or else I would watch the game from my room. I didn't have a television in my room! So I spent the rest of the game cheering in relative silence. But I was cheering really hard on the inside. Pittsburgh won that day! I have been letting my voice be heard for the rest of my Steelers days.

Do you have a favorite team, a favorite play or player you would like to share with us? My favorite player is probably Franco Harris. Its hard to pick a favorite when you have so many great ones to pick from. Yes a little bragging is ok!
How about you? Why do you love your team? Whats your favorite play? Do you have a favorite player of all time?
Lets here it!

GO STEELERS!!!
