Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

My point of view on our MVP so far this year

So far and after 10 games I only have two valid MVP for our team:

In the offense I will say that is Antonio Brown, in my opinion he is the most dependable player on offense, I see him making play after play without almost any mistake, I know that Mike Wallace receives all the attention but again is Antonio Brown the more consistent and dependable player.

In defense to me is all about Ike Taylor, consistent and dependable player, week after week a great performance and he is always matching against Andre, Larry, Wes and other tough guys to cover.

I know that many people believe that Ben is our legitimate MVP contender for the league’s MVP but to me he is making a lot of mistakes and some of his interception looks just careless as many of the sacks and fumbles.

Excuse me for my spelling and grammar, English is not my primary language.

I don't see

How it can’t be Ben. Dude has played balls out this year. And that’s not a rape reference. Unless you are talking about raping the other teams defense

I would go with

Ben on offense
And Ike on defense. I would have gone with Woodley, but he missed two key games

I agree with both

Ben and Ike have been playing at Pro-Bowl levels all year, Ike just doesn’t get the attention because he has hands of stone so the INT numbers are down.

Here's a twist on offensive and defensive MVP

Besides Ben being irreplaceable, the other guy that needs to be mentioned is Max Starks. I know an O Lineman will never win an award like that, at least not from the fans or media but think about it. Where would their offense (and Ben’s health for that matter) be without him? Would Ben be healthy enough to play every game? Others mentioned that Suggs was very well neutralized for the most part in the latest Ravens game. That’s something that no one else on their roster can do. The offense has clicked since he came back and I’m sure Ben would agree how valuable he has been.

Offensive Co-MVPs – Starks and Roethlisberger

On defense, it’s very tough to say without seeing the coaches film. Timmons has been moved around and filled some incredibly big shoes as best he can. Troy has had some great moments and Larry Foote has also played very well overall. But all in all, I would say Kiesel has been incredibly valuable along with Ike Taylor. Hard to say one over the other but if I had to choose one:

Defensive MVP – Keisel

Agree with everything there

Keisel for DMVP!
Starks DEFINITELY deserves love…My heart sank when I saw him on the ground last week.

Starks is my other option in Offense and Kiesel my other option in Defense

I still believe that was Ben fault the 3 games so far this yaer more obvious the Houston one. Cant be an MVP someone who cost us some games.

lol...wow...

How on earth is it Ben’s fault for the second Ravens game?
How on earth was it his fault against the Texans?
did you actually watch the games?

You don’t think getting gashed by Foster had ANYTHING to do with the loss in Houston? Or the fact that it was “pre-Starks” when the the opposing defenses had bases staked out in our backfield?
what the hell are you talking about man?

The pass caught by Suggs, Ben fault, we have the FG already

By how many points we lost that game?

ok

well at the same time, if Sushi could be trusted to make MID RANGE field goals, we would have gotten three at the end.

I wasn't saying who the MVP was

even though i disagree unless you are talking about Rivers’ first year as a starter.

The point is, Ben hasn’t cost us any games. week 1 was a team effort, the Texans was an O-line thing, and for the last Ravens game, you can’t discount everything he did because of one play that happened to be a great play by Suggs

Ben without question, is the one player we couldn't do without.

We a lot of exceptional players, but only one who would cost us all chance at a Championship run. We can’t do it without Ben!

by steeler fever on Nov 15, 2011 3:10 PM EST reply actions

Offensive MVP – Ben, obviously.

Defensive MVP – Woodley. Sure, he has missed two games, but other than that he has been one of the best outside linebackers this year, and maybe even the best.

by Riddlah. on Nov 15, 2011 7:32 PM EST reply actions

I look at MVP as who we couldnt win without

So on Offense its clear cut, its Big Ben. Antonio Brown is taking advantage of easier coverage on him due to opposing defenses zoning in on Mike Wallace after his monster start to the season.

On defense, its a lot murkier, but I think we have played much better on defense since James Harrison came back, and I think they will be a lot better when Woodley returns as well. But overall I think it is Ike Taylor this season. He has been brilliant and without him I think our pass defense gets abused
