During the halftime of last night's game, the aged gentlemen's temperance union apparently arranged to have Bob Costas go on a rant about celebrations that are ruinous to our culture.

My wife aptly quipped that he's trying to fill Andy Rooney's void in popular culture.

I realize we're in a recession and all but seriously who cares if a guys rolls around on the ground in pantomime after making some catch. I think it's stupid that the NFL penalizes guys for this. I'm guessing that they twisted an arm to get this propaganda on the air.
My personal two cents is that if you're a young man lucky enough to play a game for a living and you want to write on your shirt with a sharpie or roll around on the ground -- go a frickin head and god bless you straight to heaven for enjoying yourself. Costas needs to get some perspective, this is a world with some serious problems like terrorism, hunger, stupidity, and overpopulation. Some guy rolling around on the ground pretending to be Plax is fine.
