The Steelers had a golden opportunity to leap ahead of Baltimore and New England by beating the 49ers.
Taking advantage of that opportunity came down to the decision to play Ben Roethlisberger or not and Mike Tomlin quite simply made the wrong decision and then was unwilling or unable to adjust.

Ben should never have started this game.
But once you start him, it sends a bad signal if you sit him down and put in a backup. The Steelers had 11 days to get Batch ready for the 49ers, so I agree that MT blew this one. But every coach makes mistakes and MT is a very good coach overall.
