BTSC Steelers Six Pack: Down the Stretch they Come Edition
IX - As Neal Coolong wrote earlier, Antonio Brown was named MVP of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2011 as voted on by his teammates. Ed Bouchette, however, thinks it's a no-brainer that Ben Roethlisberger was the team's most valuable contributor this season. While we're on the subject of Big Ben, the sturdy quarterback says he'll play against the Brownsthis Sunday provided the pain from his high ankle sprain is not too much to endure.
X - Dale Lolley filed injury notes on his blog Wednesday night. Included are updates on Roethlisberger, LaMarr Woodley, Maurkice Pouncey and Troy Polamalu.
XIII - Ryan Clark joined The Fan earlier in the week to talk about the win over St. Louis, look ahead to Week 17, his relationship with Troy Polamalu and other subjects in a lengthy interview. SportsRadioInterviews has a partial transcription.
XIV - Congratulations to James Farrior and Marcus Gilbert for being recognized by members of the Pro Football Writers Association. The veteran linebacker Farrior was named this year's The Chief Award winner for being the player who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media. Gilbert, meanwhile, was given the Joe Greene Great Performance Award as the team's top-performing rookie. The offensive tackle out of Florida has started 12 of the 13 games he's appeared in this season.
XL - Football Outsiders has their Week 17 NFL Playoffs Odds Report ready. The Steelers are less than 5 percent likely to wind up as the No. 1 seed, 30 percent favorites to finish as the No. 2 seed, and 65 percent to finish where they currently stand as the top wild card and No. 5 seed.
XLIII - If you're on Facebook, you'll want to 'like' Benstonium Videos and then check out the latest titled 'Renegade 2011-2012 Pump-Up Video'. Great stuff as always. While you're on FB, go over to Behind the Steel Curtain's page and check that out. Lots of good stuff shared and commented on throughout the day.

Who will start at Left Guard
Pouncey will probably start and Legursky probably won’t play. My guess is Kemo will start but does Essex have a chance to beat him out.
I hope not
He did better at Center than he did at Guard
Pouncey
Ready for Phil Taylor? He’s a load.
This silly computer
I was going to say
Yes. Ben is preparing his “hurry to the line to try to get an offsides penalty” as we speak.
not even Phil Taylor will fall for Ben’s attempt at that. Everyone knows he’s not going to snap it.
Boy, I'm three generations deep, in gangstadom
Just to surprise them
He should take an early snap every now and then.
You know, so that absolutely everyone doesn’t know that he is NOT going to snap it then, when trying to draw people offsides.
3 years of watching the Steelers, I can usually predict when the ball is about to be snapped. If I can, most DC’s can. There are several reasons why Large Benjamin is the most sacked QB in the league.
