Woodley 'Extremely Doubtful' To Play Thursday Night Vs. Cleveland
NFL.com reporter Jason LaCanfora cites a league source in reporting Steelers OLB LaMarr Woodley is "extremely doubtful" to play in Pittsburgh's Week 14 match-up with Cleveland on Thursday night.
Woodley returned briefly to the lineup for the first time since Week 8, but was only in on 13 plays before he tweaked the same hamstring, according to Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
WR Emmanuel Sanders is also likely to miss the game due to a foot injury. Some reports indicated the injury is to his knee.
A knee injury kept him out of Pittsburgh's Weeks 9 and 10 games, but the league's injury report says he missed practice due to a foot injury. Sanders missed much of training camp with an injury to his left foot. There is no word on whether it is an aggravation of the training camp injury.
RG Ramon Foster left Pittsburgh's Week 13 game against Cincinnati with a low ankle sprain, but practiced fully Tuesday.
RB Jonathan Dwyer hasn't practiced this week as well, and may not suit up. That would leave the Steelers with RBs Rashard Mendenhall, Isaac Redman and Mewelde Moore against the league's 31st ranked rush defense (over 151 yards per game). OLB Chris Carter has not practiced this week, and will likely miss Thursday's game.
As previously reported, veteran NT Chris Hoke was placed on Injured-Reserve with a neck injury, possibly ending his career.

I don't mind Woodley missing this game
We need him healthy for the playoffs.

Gotta
MAKE the playoffs. Brownies are not a gimme.
Yeah but we dont need
Woodley for this game…. Deebo and crew will get the job done and make McCoy’s life a living hell for 60 minutes…. if he lasts that long.

Starting to worry
about Sanders, he seems to be injured a lot. Might need another late round reciever.

Joe Adams
is who I hope we get. And yes, a later rd would b nice. He broke that wide receiver screen pass in a Petrino offense, to go 93 yrds for a TD. Kid is fast! And elusive. I once saw him break like 8 tackles on a kick return, that he also took for a TD. And always seemed to keep a good attitude in an offense that had 4 or 5 really good SEC receivers.

I hear Sanders is out too
Something with his foot and knee? They are going to sit him out to prepare for the 49ers game. I just don’t think Sanders will ever get up to speed this year.

It’s such a shame that he is having such a rough year with all the injuries and the passing of his mother. I didn’t know about this latest injury but hopefully he can make it back for the big game against Harbawl brother #2.

Are we wearing our throwbacks?
Lately, those uniforms have not been doing well for us.

No worries about the RB's this week
Arians won’t run it against the 31st ranked run defense… they’d be expecting that!
All hail the long ball – make Ben sit back there for 8 seconds and don’t throw anything less than 50 yards all game long!
If he does that
they should fire him at half time
I love the Steelers.

they didn't after cleveland 2009
so unless they’ve gotten all the incriminating prints and the negatives of pictures Arians must have from (I assume) a drug induced night on the farm where sheep now flinch at the sound of a zipper and chickens that won’t lay eggs again, then I wouldn’t assume they’ll fire him this time either.
Arians, for whatever reason is immune to being fired. Every week is a crap shoot. It’s not a matter of if he’ll have a crappy game plan, it’s just what week and how bad it will hurt us. I can’t remember a 4 game stretch yet with him that there wasn’t at least 1 game where I was screaming at the TV about him being an idiot!
Cleveland 2009
I tried to eliminate that disgraceful game from my mind. The second WORST playcalling I’ve ever seen from a Steeler OC. The worst being a game in New York against the Jets in a blizzard where Mularkey called for pass after pass.

Unless......
You are inside the 40 of course.
Don't play him until he's totally ready.
With a hammy, it’s no good until it gets completely healed and you can run full speed with no twinges. Having Woodley on the bench won’t hurt us until playoff time anyway.
With ten or eleven days off after tomorrow's game, no need to risk Woodley tomorrow
Especially against a team that doesn’t pass very well.
Gotta say... it's a tremendous luxury to...
Be able to say of your team (to your team) that you don’t need to suit up a player the caliber of Woodley to win.
I’d rate him no worse than the third best player on that defense, and we’re comfortable with him being out. Wow.
I wouldn't
say comfortable, but confident that Worilds is playing solid enough that it isn’t worth the risk of losing Woodley for more games
