A toast to some Steeler players from the SB.

Big Ben; your a throwback to days gone by, you throw two big picks to kill your team then put them right back in the hunt, you get hurt and play big, throw yourself around and generally do anything you can to win. You may not be the cerebral QB the modern NFL loves, and we sometimes wish you were, but you are a fierce competitor and you leave it all on the field, I'd take you in that huddle over anyone.

Mendenhall; you ran hard, you gave me hope we could come back and win, and in the end dashed those hopes. Don't take it too hard, we're gonna need you again next year.

ARE; you've been here for two of these now, and contributed hugely in both. We'll remember your fight and your spirit when our team struggled, no matter where your journeys have and may still lead you, you will always be a Steeler.

The O-Line; Hold your heads high, you were supposed to be the weak link of this team but you played a phenomenal game. You and your coach deserve a ton of praise.

The old dogs on D; My heart sinks for this one, probably our last year with the core that has dominated this league for almost a decade. You revived in this city a belief and confidence second only to the Super Steelers of the 70's. You are a truly unique group and we are all privileged to have seen you work.

Hines Ward; Mr. Steeler. No other player in this teams history so well represents this franchise. Tough yet stylish, fighting tooth and nail for every game, finding a way when there doesn't seem to be one. Give us one more year, there's no way we can say goodbye to you yet.
