Well I have lost faith in humanity, considered tying CAT5 cable around my neck at one point, ate my weight in food, and drank my weight in alcohol....
And In all this I feel I want to provide some very level-headed thoughtages with this simple poast
First of all, I know we're all disappointed big time. It hurts to have made it this far and fallen short of our goal. But in fairness my main point is that we have very little to cry about here. The Packers won that game. We didn't lose it. We didn't beat ourselves.
Despite Mendenhall rushing like a man possessed and Ben converting a large number of 3rd downs, time and again the Green Bay defense forced key turnovers. The two picks are hardly on Ben IMO. Getting hit as you throw is on the GB D-line and the second pick was a pretty weird catch in traffic. The fumble wasn't all Mendy as he got sandwiched between two people. So my point is, don't blame our guys for those mistakes. Accept that GB just balled up and made plays.
On the flip side, our Defense was terrible. But great offense beats great defense every time. And crazily enough our O had a chance to win the game, and had the ball 3 different times able to take the lead. So you can't really fault our D when our O still had a chance.
There were a few crappy calls in this game but overall a very lightly officiated game and none of the calls that were iffy affected the outcome. We did make some mistakes like the drive killing false starts and the penalty on the last KR, but thats just part of the game. A well officiated game in my opinion.
Green Bay deserves their glory this year. We have nobody to blame but Green Bay. Not ourselves. Blame the team that outplayed us.
In a more retrospective note, give a hand to our team here. We're the AFC champs, and the AFC north champs. We did things this year nobody thought were possible and we rose up and overcame a lot of adversity to do it. The league shit on us all year and we brushed it off until the very end. I'm proud of this squad for coming this far. Hopefully we can get back next year and make some adjustments to our team in the offseason. I know for sure that Colbert and co will find a way to make this team even better than it was this year.
So feel free to continue drinking, but realize that this was one of the finest efforts in team history and a damn good season.
