The superbowl was a rough game, but I felt that it was very foreseeable. The Packers in my opinion look a great deal like the Pats, they won't even attempt to run, just spread you out. The Packers did that with great success, and I hate to say it, if the Pats would have beat the Jets, they would have done the same thing to us.
Our Defense is great, but when put against a team who will attack our weeknesses, we are very limited. Playing teams like the Jets and Ravens is favorable for us, but when facing teams that won't even attempt to run, we struggle. I hope our beloved coach Dad can presses Colbert hard for a big time free agent corner, or atleast i hope we can draft a stud corner because without improvement in the secondary we will not be able to beat these types of teams.
Overall, obviously a great season and I thought a great superbowl. Even though over the course of the game we made huge mistakes we still had a chance to win, our team never folded and gave us an amazing season. I feel that we made great strides over the season in what started out as a glaring area of weakness, O-Line. Pouncey is a lifer, that Giant Samoan Kemoatu is a pulling machine, next year we get Willie back, and Flozell did a great job filling in. I think it is still an area of need, but I think we have bigger issues to address....DBs.
Looking forward, I believe Ike is a free agent, IMO he needs to be back. I know the steelers rarely go the free agent route, but man Id love to sign a guy like champ bailey to a short term deal, or nnamdi obviously would be amazing (I wont hold my breath). I dont know about you guys, but if we dont draft or sign a top rate corner, I can't see us getting by N.E. anytime soon.
