Many thanks to steelerstyle for the No. 3 overall pick in this year's Community Mock Draft. I think the Bills would be wise to take a sure talent like Miller over a risky gamble like Cam Newton. But that's just me. Next up: the Cincinnati Bengals, represented by dietrich43. - Michael B. -
Common mocks around the internet have the Bills in need of a Cam Newton as a franchise qb. After all Fitzpatrick had a qb rating of 82 and had more than one interception per game. That is the easy pick and is Wrong with a capital W and not because our mock has him going to Carolina or that he has some uncertainties about his ego and focus. Fitzpatrick also had 3k passing yards and was the second leading rusher this season while playing just 13 games. His efficiency is only expected to improve with a second season of experience within the new system. No he is not a franchise qb but he plenty good enough to get consecutive winning seasons.
The third pick of the draft must be someone that will be a solid star for the next decade. Someone who makes others on the team better. The third pick is not the place for a high reward moderate risk player that IMO is Cam Newton. As such with the third pick of the draft the Buffalo Bills take Von Miller.
Miller had a monster Senior Bowl and ran a 4.53 at the combine after bulking up9 pounds. Miller's speed off the edge would be a welcomed addition for a Bills defense that ranked 5th worst in sacks. He matured in one of the few BCS programs that run a 3-4 and will be an immediate fit in Buffalo's 3-4 and a great compliment to fellow linebacker Posluszny who had a freakish 151 tackles.
