BTSC 2011 Community Mock Draft Pick No. 15 -- Miami Dolphins Select Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
The fast pace continues thanks to the very logical pick by MiamiSteelerFan. Many thanks to him. Next up: the Jacksonville Jaguars, represented by DadeCountyJag. - Michael B. -
****************
No surprise here, but with the 15th pick in the NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama.
For a few years now, the Dolphins have been stuck in mediocrity...a few plays away from winning 10 games while at the same time being a few plays away from losing 10 games. Coach Tony Sparano somehow survived the middle-school offseason (watching team officials flirt with Jim Harbaugh while he sat by himself). Knowing he's on a short leash, there is little choice but to take an instant impact player.
The Fins would love to draft a QB, but with Newton and Gabbert off the board, the 5'9", 215lb back will help fill the potential void created by the impending free agency of Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown. Although the comparisons to Emmitt Smith may be a tad generous, Ingram's ability to run between the tackles and catch passes out of the backfield should help the offense improve on its 30th place ranking in 2010.

I guess this means I have some work to do now.
It’s tough picking in the teens, you never know what you’ll have available to you when it’s your turn.
Anyway, back to this pick. It’s a good grab, at a position of need. Can’t really complain about it too much. Ingram has great balance and tremendous strength as a runner. He should fit nicely with what Tony Sparano wants to do.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate.
im on the clock
Pretty sure who im taking, still got some thinking to do. Where do I email my pick and write up to?

Exact right pick
I don’t see them taking anyone else unless Gabbert falls.

I only seen one mock that this was not the pick
and on that one NE took him first.
If you buy a foreign made product you give money to a person who will not be buying an American made product that you get paid to make. Think about it next time you're at the store.
Nice grammar also.

My mock I had the Dolphins picking OT
I dont think they will take Ingram personally. They need help on the line
Its not a bad pick, just not the direction I think they will take. When everyone is almost in agreement about one pick like it seems to be with Ingram, it almost never works out lol
A long way from Pittsburgh PA, in fact, 8653.2 miles to be precise. My blood still bleeds black and gold like the rest of Steeler Nation, proud fan since 2002.
BTSC's token Kiwi fan. That means I'm a New Zealander. Yes, that small country next to Australia....no we are not part of Australia

I'm thinking Pouncey to Miami actually.
Between Long and Carey, I think they feel comfortable with the tackles they have, but I could be wrong.

After reading the Phinsider
There were a few who mentioned wanting OT and moving Carey to G, hence why I had them draft a Tackle

Ah, gotcha.
Makes sense I guess, Carey is a big guy, he is bound to lose a step eventually.

Nice Pick
Does anyone have any interest in doing this for the second round too? Might makes things more interesting
Last year we ran out of time, but I think we were going to try to...
I say as long as we have time prior to the actual draft we might as well just keep it going for as long as we can.
I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

I agree
that is assuming we can get everyone on board. With 31 different people picking it might be difficult to have everyone as knowledgeable of the second round players as opposed to the first rounders.
That being said I think it would be fun to see everyone’s thoughts.
