It's not really a question of should we
Its a question of whether he is available or not

Agreed, but...
should we trade up…and if so, at what cost? That is where the discussion needs to be IMHO. What is too high of a price, and what is not…and there will be a fine line on that.

Should we?
Probably not, because it will likely cost our 2nd round pick and maybe 3rd pick. We need those to grab secondary help.

Agreed - not if the cost is that high.
But what if a 4th? Or a player..such as Dixon? Now I’m starting to think it might make sense. I’m not sure we need 6 players from this year’s draft to make the 53-man squad (assuming it’s not higher). It also depends upon the CBA…whether the FA period is before or after the draft. Lots of options or opportunities. And then again, maybe we should just give up on getting him.

4th round picks are not really worth a lot
A late 4th round pick is probably not worth more than moving up from 31 to 29, but not much more. Also, the problem with only drafting for this coming year, is that you are not setting up for the future. A lot of times those guys that sit on the PS can make an impact in a few years.
Dixon? I do not really know what his value is, but who needs a QB that we could deal to? Probably not anyone, because there are a few decent QBs to be had later in this draft.

Lots of teams need QBs
Bungles, Tenn, Cards to name a few, but that doesn’t really make a trade. Also, remember, we traded Bluntonio for a 5th, I believe, then traded that 5th for McFadden & a 6th, which turned into A. Brown. I don’t think that turned out to bad for the Steelers, despite the moaning and groaning that went on after the first part of the trade. I guess that if the FO wants Pouncey, they will figure out how to get him and the rest of this is just speculation. But fun anyway! :)

If he is available at 31 then great
Moving up is too expensive.
