The former Steelers special teams standout, and two time Pro-Bowler, passed away on Tuesday at age 86. The Steelers first round draft pick in 1950 (8th overall) was a return ace, and his 29.6 yard career average on returns ranks second all time in NFL history. Chandois made Pro-Bowls in 1952 and 1953, and was a two way star at Michigan State University, after spending two years in the Naval Air Corps. Said Dan Rooney: "Lynn was one of our great players from the past. He was a really good person and a better player than anyone ever gave him credit for being. He is one of those special players that we will always remember." The collective thoughts and prayers of Steelers Nation go out to the family of Lynne Chandois in their time of sadness.
