The Steelers drafted just as they always have when they took Cameron Heyward and solidified our next generation of DE's with Heyward and Hood. I don't have a problem with this pick mainly because they got the best value available, while still drafting one of their top 3 needs. So since most have shrugged at this pick - though we all admit even though it wasn't pretty, it was still a solid selection - I'm moving forward and on to round 2. I think the Steelers are less likely to trade up to the middle of this round for a few reasons.
First, there will be another run on players like we saw in the first round who will be over-drafted and I think some serious corner talent will drop to the middle of the round. If Aaron Williams, Rahim Moore, Brandon Harris and Ras I Dowling are all taken before we pick, I will be shocked.
Second, players like Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, Martez Wilson, Stephen Paea, Akeem Ayers (Bust in my opinion), and Ben Ijalana could be available at the end of the round.
Finally, since the Steelers have shown that once again they don't care that they need a CB or OL, and that they are only drafting for best player available, we should expect them to keep picks later on that could turn into a 4th round Corner or 5th round Tackle. Basically the Steelers will once again have a vulnerable line and secondary, but dangit we will have a great front 7.
