Former Steelers All-Pro Lineman Alan Faneca to Retire
Faneca was the heart and soul of Bill Cowher's great ground game in Pittsburgh for 10 years prior to moving on after one year under HC Mike Tomlin. He spent two seasons in New York with the Jets, and one season with the "Steelers West" in Arizona. Faneca went to 9 straight Pro Bowls with Pittsburgh and New York (2001-2009), and was named an All Pro six times. He helped pave the way for Willie Parker's memorable record setting touchdown in Super Bowl XL, a game the Steelers went on to win in 2005 making him a Superbowl Champion on top of all of his personal accolades. Good luck in the next phase of your life Alan, we wish you and your family all the best in the future.
