I would many times try to squeeze my dad in front of a television with me on Sundays to no avail. My dad has always been old fashioned, well educated, and a big fan of college football. Me on the other hand, although thankful for the old fashioned ways of my fathers teachings, became spell bound with Terry, Franco, and the boys as a child. I attribute my long love for the Steelers in part to my loyal personality.I live and breath for the fall and Steeler football. I am forty years young now, and two wives later, i can honestly say the Steelers are one of the very few constants in my life, along with Jack my bull dog( which i do dress in Steeler glory). Now back to my old fashioned roots. If it wasnt for football, I may have thrown my tv out the window. Seriously................ well there was this small show I did indulge in, named "lost" and "x files". But I often subscribe to the notion that more family time and more reading is beneficial to ones soul, brain, and society than watching the idiot tube. Which brings me to the point of my post. My feelings changed today on the lock out, and I was wondering how all of you feel? NINE Billion dollars, let me say it again NINE Billion dollars. Being thankful was instilled in me at a young age to be. Im outraged that two parties can not realize how fortunate they are. Im outraged these same parties think they can dual with each other and think I will not care enough to turn on them. ( I may not, but I for one dont like to be taken for granted, do you?) I do watch college football, and actually two years ago the drama was very intense and entertaining. ps.............i hate the bowl system. One thing for sure, I want the NFL to suffer at least for a time. We make the NFL what it is, not the star players, remember that ok? I dont know if I will boycott Sundays or not, at this point, but I will most definitely if the NFL loses any games.) i love my Steelers, but I dont pray with them on holiday dinners, and never hung with any of them after work . They are just entertainment , which is worth Nine billion dollars. Am i being to hard on them? Id love to hear what you have to say.
