Shot-Out to the Pirates and a Shut-Up to the Wash.Cap's

I know this is a Pittsburgh Steeler Blog site and 'Oh' how I respect the Black and Gold Cypher of Opinions and Suggestions but if u will, give me a few moments to reflect on 2 topics that may indirectly effect STEELER FANS and directly impact Pirate and Penquin Fans

I"m a huge fan of the Black and Gold Sports triangle so I root unapologetic-ally for all 3 professional franchises in the Steel City; so with that I want to give an early Big-UP's and props to the Pirates and how there playing and being managed. They've been dissed left and right over the past decade (most of it directed towards ownership and much of it was deserving) but I've been of the strong opinion the last 3 years that everybody n the organization (top to bottom-literally) have been working hard at turning things around and that the 2011 season was going to be the tipping point for the franchise and so far so good. I know we're only a month into the season but the Pirates are giving fans hope that they'll stay relevant for much of the season or at least till the Steelers report to Training Camp (if the NFL season actually happens) and if that happened I suggest the Pirates receive a victory parade and a 'city to the key' ceremony.

Lastly I would give a huge laugh and appreciative 'F-U" to those early exited Washington Capitals; for the 4th straight year they've been bounced out of the playoffs in either the 1st or 2nd round-after being prohibitive favorites to compete for a Cup each of those four years. The Capitals arrogant-stuffy-wining azz coach Bruce Boudreau deserves most of the hatred being directed towards the team a day after the Tampa Bay Lightning eliminated them Sweep-style (4-zero)...he sucks in the postseason and he has the nerve to spit venom towards the Penquin franchise whenever the 2 teams get together to play. And while I'm at it, lets throw the so-called best player in the hockey world under the bus as well, Alexander Ovechkin (lets be honest he's great offensively but he's no Sidney Crosby), he's been known to throw cheap shots at the Penquins on and off the ice so to see him exit early and go home for the summer is happy times in my household; he had a good series against the Lightning but it wasn't good enough, his teammates didn't step up alongside him so they all get no love. The Penquins were sent home early too, by those same T.Bay Lights, but as you well know by now we had a pretty good excuse for getting eliminated this year (2 great excuses and that horrible power play) and as far as I'm concerned as long as it wasn't the Washington Capitals laying down the gauntlet on our season... its all G.O.O.D....until next season....
