SAY IT ISN'T SO , BRETT FAVRE RETURNS AGAIN ?
On Sunday afternoon , NFL Network is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have contacted none other than Bret Favre about signing with them as a backup to Michael Vick for this season . The Network was trying to reach Favre for confirmation but were unable to reach him .You can tell the lockout is nearly over because now comes the Bret Favre news . I really was hoping we could get through this season without talking about Bret , but unfortunately that didnt happen .

they might do it, they have a lot of $ they need to spend.
and they are trading kolb to az so why not? we may never get rid of brett unless they take him out on a stretcher.
i think somebody needs to kill brett favre..
this is what? the 5th offseason in a row with the same damn headlines? geez
I hope this is true...
…because Favre deserves Philly fans, and Philly fans deserve Brett Lorenzo Favre.
The hell with all of them, I say.
I would kill everyone in this room for a drop of sweet beer.

How is this not green yet?
I’ll fix it…

Yes, but this seems more of a punishment for the fans! Personally I think there needs to be a rule: You cannot ‘take back’ your resignation more than 3 times in your career.
HERE WE GO STEELERS!
"Our Father, who art in Pittsburgh, Football be thy game. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, at Heinz Field as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, a stellar D and forgive us our bogus fines, as we (sorta) forgive Goodell who trespasses against us. And lead us not into defeat, but deliver us a Victory. For thine is The Steelers, the power and glory of climbing the STAIRWAY TO 7."
on the flipside Terrelle Pryor might not be eligible for the supplemental draft
wouldn’t that be karmic retribution for helping screw up a great situation with your need for Gucci & Prada and a new car every 2 months. I think the NFL is trying to send a message that they clearly do not approve of his behavior but in the end there is not much they can do. He would probably win on lawsuit b/c his situation definitely changed at The Ohio State University.
He can say “f*ck that” if I stayed in Columbus my life was in danger, that’s how my situation changed!
It also probably doesn’t help that Vick is encouraging him by saying he would be honored if Brett came there. Now we all get to look forward to 3/4 of the sports news speculating if Favre will return once again.
“Brett Favre reportedly bent over to tie his shoe and didn’t appear to look hampered by any of his past injuries. This could be a sign that we will indeed see Favre again in 2011.”
On Ed Reed:
"I’ve told him to his face many times, ‘You’re the greatest safety ever to play the game,’"
"We all learn from each other, but we all learn most from him."

I'd rather them talk about Favre than fellate the Ravens while saying how "this is the year" for the third straight year

I thought that was the Jets?

sheesh
Ok call me crazy but Brett Farve’s stats from the year prior to last – at the age of 40 were as follows:
Record 12-4 (2nd best in career)
Comp% 68.4 (Career Best)
YDS 4202 (3rd best in career)
Passer rating 107 (best in career)
TD 33
Int 7
Int % 1.3 (Career best – led league)
y/A 7.9 (best in career)
Not a bad season. Now after 1 injury riddled season for both him and his team he is thinking of coming in as a back up for a play-off caliber team. How is that not a perfect situation for both teams.
I will grant all that his drama queen antics are beyond annoying, but if you tell me that you think there is no chance that the guy has enough in his tank to be a quality back up who can step in and deliver during the big game – then I just don’t buy it…..
i don't think anyone has a problem with his ability
there are so many marginal QBs, it’s just the drama which favre loves to feed.
oh he's drama
but I think people are too down on him. Drama makes the game fun. Yes hes turned himself into a bit of a caricature, but tell me the following scenario doesn’t get you to the TV.
Eagles make it to the playoffs – they are down 14-10 to the Packers in half time. At the end of the third quater A.J. Hawk plants Michael Vick with a brutal hit, he fumbles and the score is returned for a TD. Vick is out with a concussion. The Eagles need a man wo can lead a three score comeback in the fourth quarter of the playoffs. Off the bench leaps the greybearded, grandfather with the the golden arm – 42 year old Brett Farve, for one more shot at redemption against his old team and his super-star replacement.
Its the stuff of sporting legend. We would all run to the TV.

no doubt it makes sense for the eagles
but if it happens it will probably be after training camp b/c favre is allergic to camp.
I read a really interesting stat article after last year
It was about how Favre alternates good and bad years for quite some time now. I’ve had a long weekend, so I’m not going to search for it.
Back on the Sweed train. Choo Choo!

Brett will do this.
He will ride this team to the playoffs then Vick gets hurt. He will win the wild card round and throw 5 interceptions the next game.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Please no Brett Farve news this year!
