Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

It's Time For an Open Thread! (Lockout's Over Edition!)

Here's what I would like:

Tell everyone here on BTSC what you WOULD have done, had the lockout continued and the league tanked the 2011 season. This isn't really that important, but I found it helps to give at least one topic to have a nosh and talk amongst yourselves over.

I, for one, would have probably gotten a lot more done around the house on Sundays this fall. Maybe I would have gone back to school.

I can't wait for my sons to grow up enough to understand why daddy is yelling at the TV, and/or running around the house with his fists in the air. I'm just hoping my boys follow my lead and not their mothers' when picking their football team(s). She's a Chargers and Green Bay fan. I know, I know...But before we got together, she had no idea who Phillip "Crybaby" Rivers was. Or Drew Brees, for that matter. She knew Brittany Farva, but had no clue who Bart Starr was. (In case you couldn't tell, she's not really much of a football fan)

Anywho, let's get going and celebrate a full season of football!

Go Steelers!!!

I would have

done more homework on Sundays but would have missed out on my first ever game at Heinz (on my 21st no less). OS I for one am glad to have football back!

HERE WE GO STEELERS!
"Our Father, who art in Pittsburgh, Football be thy game. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, at Heinz Field as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, a stellar D and forgive us our bogus fines, as we (sorta) forgive Goodell who trespasses against us. And lead us not into defeat, but deliver us a Victory. For thine is The Steelers, the power and glory of climbing the STAIRWAY TO 7."

Carried on exactly as I was.

Nice normal sleep pattern, actually working at work, you know, the good stuff.

Why is the "football" not round and thrown around?

How is it going Steeler nation?

Can anyone here tell me how many times the Steeler’s ran the ball in the ‘05 season and was the Big Ben’s sophomore season? I have a feeling Ken Whisenhunt is banking on repeating with Skelton, and any links would be greatly appreciated.

by Cardsfan928 on Jul 26, 2011 10:04 PM EDT reply actions

In 2005:

The Steelers ran the ball 549 times, as compared to 379 passes (one by a punter, so… yeah).

Good luck with Skelton, if that’s the route you’re going. He’s been the forgotten man in the public’s eye this whole offseason, and I don’t know why (well, actually I do… the media dismissed his entire existence).

All the physical tools to play the position, arm strength, size, decent mobility… he’s almost a poor man’s Ben Roethlisberger on paper. If he can grasp the game from a mental standpoint, he could be a player down the road.

I would have worn black, without the gold, every Sunday...

seriously would have sucked, but I still have all three playoff games from last season on my DVR, so I’d probably watch one every week and cry in my beer a little (especially during the SB one)

Would have probably

worked more. I’m starting a business in addition to my full time job as a Project Manager to supplement my income. I have a son in college and a daughter who will be starting college a year from August, therefore additional income would be very helpful. I actually enjoy working (most of the time) and am anxious to see how much of a success I can have starting/building my own business, BUT……I’d much rather watch my Steelers play!
