Heard on NFL Sirius Radio this morning that Timmons was extended for 5 years, $50m. While that seems high, Timmons is only 25 years old and has become one of the major playmakers for the team. I heard Coach Dad talking about LT and he said that much of what Troy used to do is now done by Timmons. He covers that much ground and can be that disruptive.
On the other hand, we have a ton of money tied up in our LBs. Woodley, Timmons, Harrison and even Farrior are all costly. I wonder what the salary cap implications of paying all those guys are...though Farrior may not be around too much longer with Sylvester waiting in the wings.
Looks like Troy is the last guy to extend. It probably makes sense to extend the younger, healthier Timmons before working on Troy, who is more dynamic but older and has had injury issues.
