Awesome news to wake up to.  And even more awesome news for this team for the long term.  They now have their two stud young LBs, from the 2007 NFL draft, signed to long term deals.  I am of course talking about the previous deal for LaMarr Woodley, in addition to this signing.

Lawrence Timmons is an absolute physical athlete.  The 2010 season was his breakout season, where he finally had the experience and health to make a huge impact.  Last year he tallied up 135 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 9 pass deflections.  Additionally, ProFootballFocus had him ranked as their highest rated ILB, even surpassing the 49ers Patrick Willis.  That may make him the most underrated defensive player in the game.  However, I do not think that will last very long.
