The Birds' Book on Ben
"He doesn’t scramble to throw it short, or hit a check-down, or dump it to a back. He’s scrambling to throw it deep. So it’s really our deep players – whether it’s half-field coverage or quarters coverage – it’s important that our safeties are back."

He is already saying Ben while scrambling will throw it deep, Well Ya! if someone is open but he needs to use Mendenhall in some of these situations.
Yeah, that's exactly the point.
It means that opponents don’t worry too much about covering the short stuff against the Steelers. So hopefully this generates a few new ideas on the part of BA and company.
