Former Browns and Ravens OT Orlando Brown was found dead at his Baltimore area condominium Friday.

Brown was 40 years old, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

"We send our condolences to the family of Orlando Brown," Ravens coach John Harbaugh told the Carroll County Times. "Everybody knew what he meant to this organization. We're forever grateful for what he did for the present team. We can't express enough sorrow for his loss."

Brown is probably best known as the Browns player who was struck in the eye by an errant penalty flag thrown by Jeff Triplette in 1999. Brown shoved Triplette to the ground after it in one of the scarier moments in recent NFL memory.

The injury prevented Brown from playing for three seasons, and led to his $200 million lawsuit against the NFL. He settled for $25 million. He returned to the field in 2003, and played with Baltimore from that season through 2005.
