Play calling
I have complained about our play calling for a while but watching the saints really shows the difference between good OC and bad ones. Perfect stat: sproules had 15 catches yesterday. Mendenhall had 18 ALL YEAR. Redman also had 18
Why? If one of the best QB of all time has a checkdown available every play why don't we? BA and BEN love the deep ball. But having a RB start in the backfield and release for check down moves the chains and prevents sacks and helps you score points.
So simple and most teams do it. Drives me crazy

I observed the opposite in the 49'ers game
Their OC seemed to have no use for checkdowns and safety valves, and yet, they won. I guess conventional wisdom goes out the window when all parts really click. Ours never really did this year, offense-wise.
