Slow your roll.ye
take a deep breath steeler nation. lets not get ahead of ourselves with crazy mock drafts or trade envolving our youngest playmakers. a successful season comes from building on the prvious season. the teams that are succesful do not standblow up thier rosters trying to magic bullet thier way to the superbowl. think the eagles, grback ratbirds, randy moss patriots, the redskins and the raiders. the greatest growth is in second and third year players, espicially on defense. i for one am excited about this teams future. coach dad has gotten players he wants. tomlin was a defensive backs coach he has drafted his guys. william gay wasnt to shabby this year and the steelers have at least three corners that are in thier second or third year. they are going to be better next year. we have three young defensive lineman playing thier asses off in the playoffs on the road. we have two top ten linebackers entering thier prime.
on offense. we have a franchise quarterback three recievers that have had an one thousand yard reciever. next year i look to sanders to do what he was supposed to do this year. saunders learning from heath. who is to say saunders doesnt improve leaps and bounds. he was a somewhat immature guy but he is learning from a lunchpail all around stud in heath miller. the oline was in shambles but has a chance to get healthy this offseason. i have faith in gilbert being a fixture at rt. kugler has just started drafting his guys. legursky isnt a starter but the guy worked his tail off and did whatever he could. with kemo gone i think foster could improve enough to be at least dependable. worst case scenario at lt is max starks. i think starks is an injury hazard but while he was playing we had a solidified line.
the pickups for the offseason. bolster oline lb and saftey through the draft orfree agency. draft oline, dline no matter what. get matchup problems i.e. sproles, hernandez, graham, wallace, woodhead, mccluster. add more timmons style guys. the nfl is changing to win in the nfl saftylinebacker hybrids may be the key to winning. with work timmons could cover the tight ends of the modern nfl.
all in all the steelers will be able to compete for a division and conference title next year. lets not start firing coach dad or trading probowl offensive players.

Slowing Roll But?
I would like nothing more than to sit back and move forward but over the past few years we have not learned a great deal and then apply it. Many other teams have got better, hell, our own division has jumped light years and those 6 guaranteed wins are wars now.
I think we have great I will say it again, great offensive talent. My worry and why I can’t slow my roll is who is leading this talent in the film room and on the chalk board. Our eyes have seen the beating our QB has taken and we have not solved this riddle. #68 (late hit KeyMO) is not the answer. Our QB has check downs all over the field and the BIG PLAY has been instilled in his approach… not move the chains.
I like to look at things from a calm logical position but this is getting out of hand. Hell we let #7 slip out of our hands last year because we went away from the run and had our second tier QB chuck the rock to Mexico. Golden chance at another Lombardi and I think we have to take a real honest look at the string pullers. I want to slow my roll but this is way too predictable.
I think we are in a good position but we may be in for one or two years of sub-par territory unless this offense scheme gets better and uses the talent the right way. I want to slow the roll but this stuff speaks for itself.

of these same arguments were made about the secondary last year, and the Steelers addressed it. This year the secondary was #1. While the O line does need imporving the team selected first and second round linemen the last two years, I think that this trend will continue (perhaps with 2 early round linemen). There are other problems that arose this year as well, including NT, ILB, and Safety. I think all of these will be addressed in FA and the draft along with some less obvious issues like back up QB.
People don't ever seem to realize that doing what's right is no guarantee against misfortune.

Let's not nominate them
I love our defense, you will see I have a bone with our offense but not our defense. The lack of pass rush to injury hurt us and yes Carnell Lake did a great job but lets not go wild, I can give you a list of the QB’s we faced all year… Not that impressive. Fix? Oline and Arians has been an issue for sometime now. Sorry.

Arians isn’t our whole team. I agree with your frustrations. Take some pleasure in this teams season.
The win over the Patriots was sweet. We lost to baltimore twice because they added wrinkles and we didn’t. Different then two losses to Baltimore and an overtime loss in denver the steelers fought like the heart attack steelers that won two superbowls.
I’m just saying don’t start talking about tradeing mike wallace rashard and coach dad for the number one pick. Draft luck trade him for RG3. Then trade ben for decastro and calvin johnson.

Pleasure
I can’t take pleasure in wasitng talent and continued squandering opportunities. We measure ourself on Silver trophies, anything else is for the oher 31 teams. Our offense better improve and Arians and Ben are the key. I can forward you some impressive redzone numbers if you want :)
