Apology time for OIF3GUNNER

Recently I engaged in a war of words on a FanPost that another member posted. I got out of hand and now need to swallow my pride and ask for forgiveness. I want to start by telling everyone on this site that I respect you all and value your opinions. I was being an insensitive jerk. I also had the gall to use profanity. I am sorry for both the use of profanity and the essential trolling on a post I had no business being on in the first place. In the future I will remain in my lane, guns and football. Sometimes my emotions get the best of me, and this is one of those times. I hope that everyone involved will accept this apology and we can all move forward. So, again to all involved, I am sorry and you can rest assured that it will not happen again. Now, with that said can we start talking about the draft?!?! GO STEELERS

Good job bro

That’s very respectable! Though I’m more of an X’s and O’s man, I am going to try to look at some players this year. Hopefully I can engage on some draft talk.

This is what I love about this site. It may get out of hand in some of the threads, some of the time but almost all of us are good people and know when to suck it up and make amends. I don’t spend much time on the draft threads (not really my thing), but I’m sure the apology is appreciated and accepted. Hope to see you around more in the future OIF3GUNNER.

No offense taken.

Though the profanity meter was soaring there for a while. I grew up in a house with four boys, so i’ve heard it all. That subject has been a flashpoint on many a blog.

Your delivery was... well... terrible, but I agree 100% on your point.

Sorry it got ugly.

No I am not active anymore

Was a Marine from 1997-2001 and spent the next 11 year in and out of reserves. Two time Iraqi freedom, never had a chance to go to OEF

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 24, 2012 2:34 PM EST up reply actions

read your posts in the other fanpost and u were right on point...sorry it got out of hand

been there and done that myself a few times……I love Marines!!!!

I can resist everything but temptation.....

by the duchess of steel on Jan 24, 2012 2:51 PM EST up reply actions

Was a Marine??

I though once a Marine always a Marine.

by SNW on Jan 24, 2012 3:09 PM EST up reply actions

Me too

They told me I had too many tats to re-enlist with them so I had to go to the army for my reserve time.

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 24, 2012 6:26 PM EST up reply actions

I read what you said in the other post in multiple areas and it lacks SA.

Your apology is well received though….I still expect more from a fellow military comrade.

by ToonaSteel on Jan 24, 2012 6:52 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed

The only thing I can do is realize a mistake was made, and own up to it.

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 24, 2012 6:58 PM EST up reply actions

That would explain that.

Too many tats to re-enlist? Seems odd.

by SNW on Jan 25, 2012 1:29 PM EST up reply actions

Yep

That was in 2004. I thought it was odd also, being as I got most of them while I was active.

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 27, 2012 8:14 AM EST up reply actions

I don't remember the post you are talking about

but appreciate your apology. As someone said earlier, this is a site that can be very forgiving when you realize you messed up and accept it.Not that it matters now, but I almost joined the Marines right after high school. Making money took precedence at the time. Wish now I would have joined.

Things can always be worse....

No need to apologize, you act like just about every man in the service I’ve met online. You are what you are and that is shown quite clearly by your profile pic.

Well imagine that, you and I disagree again.

Only because the people you and I know personally in the service wouldn’t feel the need to flaunt such a thing in public forums as if it has any type of relevance or importance. In fact, we have an example right here in our own ToonaSteel whom I completely forgot about because he comes here to discuss football and does so – we don’t see him turning to his status in the military any time someone disagrees with him.

I should probably retract what I said, but the way he carried his service in the other thread was pretty tasteless, about as equally tasteless as what I said.

by klompus on Jan 24, 2012 9:08 PM EST up reply actions

anything you can boil down to “in real life i’d whoop your ass” is something you should keep off the internet, just imho.

by klompus on Jan 24, 2012 9:10 PM EST up reply actions

Hold on

Was that me^^….If so, I responded to someone saying they would love to meet me in person. To which I responded with my address and didnt once mention my service.

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 24, 2012 9:54 PM EST up reply actions

it’s all good. i thank you for your service, honestly. it’s not work cut out for people like me.

by klompus on Jan 24, 2012 10:06 PM EST up reply actions

Thanks

I really dont see anywhere, where I “carried my service on another thread” though. I actually dont recall saying anything about being in the military. My reference to my picture was a reference about firearms.

by OIF3GUNNER on Jan 25, 2012 9:17 AM EST up reply actions

On this we completely agree.

I’ve always found that when a discussion has turned to verbal assaults, threats and just juvenile behavior… the discussion part ended long before.

It comes down to respect. You and I will have disagreements and differences of opinion (and that’s not a bad thing at all. I like hearing viewpoints that I may not have considered) but I can’t imagine not being able to afford you the respect of agreeing to disagree without all the harsh words attached.

It’s all good. I’m glad you understood what I meant.

Same. It’s always a pleasure to agree to disagree with you, honestly. You’re quite pleasant
