Another Leaves Baltimore for Indianapolis
Chuck Pagano leaves the Baltimore Ravens to take the head coaching job at Indy, although he didn't leave in the middle of the night ;)
Pagano spent one year as the defensive coordinator for the Ravens and the previous three as their secondary coach. This is the 51 year old Pagano's first head coaching job. Pagano is the fourth Ravens defensive coordinator to land an NFL head coaching job elsewhere, following Marvin Lewis with Cincinnati, Mike Nolan with San Francisco and Rex Ryan with the New York Jets.

sucks for the ravens
that 2 out of the 1st 3 coaches that left turned out to be a hell of a lot better than the pussy they have now in harbaugh. the guy now blames his playoff losses on the scoreboard! i bet last yr when they lost to us his excuse was “we were up 21-7 at halftime, but i thought the scoreboard said 4th quarter, so we thought the game was over. we didnt know the 2nd half counted”
that 2 out of the 1st 3 coaches that left turned out to be a hell of a lot better than the pussy they have now in harbaugh.
Which two are those? Marvin Lewis? (zero playoff victories and a career losing record) Mike Nolan? (Where does he even coach now?) Rex Ryan? (Talks of him getting fired in NY, lost complete control of his locker room). That “pussy” has been one of the more successful coaches in the league since 2008.
the guy now blames his playoff losses on the scoreboard!
Would love to see where he said “we lose because of the mistake of downs on the scoreboard.” I’ll be waiting for that exact quote.
Just an overall dumb comment, which I expect from people like you.
Flacco has to trust his receivers to make catches, but shouldn’t throw towards coverage. He needs to attack deep more often, but shouldn’t hold onto the ball so long. He needs to show more awareness in the pocket and move to extend plays, but nothing good comes of him leaving the pocket. He should run with the ball if nobody’s open, but he definitely can’t run with the ball.
Flacco should have the awareness of Roethlisberger, the elusiveness of Vick, the control of the offense of Manning, the leadership of Brady, the accuracy of Brees, and the arm strength of … Flacco? - Ampallang
Hey Malor
If anything, I would say that I don’t put ANYTHING past the Patriots at this point, while I doubt it was something deliberate, it would be a “Genius” move…

I have not seen anyone yet say that it was some deliberate move to screw us over. To me, it just seemed like an honest mistake after Boldin fumbled the ball which went past the first down marker (and you can’t advance a fumbled ball in the last 2 min of a game) So there was the sideline down marker that said one thing, and the scoreboard that said another.
Should have made the kick, no excuses.

I wouldn’t put anything past them.

I read that the way it was handled (confusion of downs) interfered with Cundiffs routine. Cundiff himself said that. I’m sure I read about Harbaugh mentioning it too. It’s hard to say exactly what is fact and what is fiction when it comes to your coach and complaining.
The day I see a game where he isn’t whining, yanking his stupid ball cap around til it covers his eyes because he’s pissed at a refs call, or has his faced juiced up into a contorted mess because he’s just oh-so-unhappy about Something, doesn’t matter what , will be the day I decide to strictly date Llamas. I’m serious. I will straight up freaking date a Llama.
Oh. But I can say pretty much anything I want, because that day won’t come. He’s always got his panties in a bunch. Except when the refs hand you obscene PI calls in your favor like Halloween candy. All smiles then.
By the way…you want something bad enough? Why call for others to produce it when you have Google. Use it.

ur so stoopid
Harbaugh did bring up the scoreboard incident, and immediately afterwards said he was not making any kind of excuses, simply explaining why he and the refs were in confusion.

Your Hairball coach is still an idiot for NOT calling the time out to ensure that his
kicker was SET properly to make the FG which would have sent u guys into OT for a shot at to play in the SB. Also maybe he should have had the team use their time off to PREPARE for how to beat the pats instead of using it to make those stupid ‘Ball So Hard’ t-shirts and flapping their jaws with the media U might have won the game. U guys are all for blaming Flacco and Evans and Cundiff BUT never hold Harbaugh responsible for anything that the team does except when they win.

For the record, I think Harbaugh is a great coach. But there were some really bad decisions made at the end of that Championship game
- why not run the ball on 3rd and 1 with a timeout left? They could have easily picked up the first and had enough time to take at least two if not three more shots in the end zone
- they should have at least used that timeout when they saw Cundiff rushing out to take the kick

That sucks to lose like that. I bet Ravens fans are pretty salty right now. They had thier team healthy and ready to go and lost a game that they outplayed thier opponent in.

In my opinion Harbaugh is NOT a good coach......he runs his mouth to the media and
lets his players run theirs as well….he allows Ray Ray to be the LEADER of the team when that should be the QB’s job AND he has made many errors in judgement where he either wasn’t paying attention to what was going on or he was just so DAYUM cocky he didn’t think he had to pay attention. The problem is that Baltimore for some strange reason has blinders on when it comes to this guy and until they get rid of him they will continue to struggle in games against mediocre teams as well as struggle in games in the post season.

And Tomlin doesn’t allow this? Woodley saying that Flacco will NEVER win a Superbowl because that would mean beating you guys (which he did). Letting some dumb ass safety guarantee a victory against the undefeated Patriots in 2007?
Lets Mendenhall speak out about 9/11 conspiracy theories. Lets Harrison talk about pissing on Goodell. But let me guess, that wasn’t running your mouth to the media at all because it is the all world perfect Pittsburgh Steelers, right?
he allows Ray Ray to be the LEADER of the team
And your point? Ray is the face of the franchise, always has been. The players admire him, listen to him, follow his work ethic and mentality. What is so wrong with having him be the one who speaks out for the team, shows the team how to work? He has certainly helped Joe in his progression.
How do you know Joe is not a leader? Because he isn’t doing some dumb chant like Drew Brees? What makes you so sure Joe is not a leader of this team?
and until they get rid of him they will continue to struggle in games against mediocre teams
Harbaugh has a total of 5career losses to teams with a record under .500. Nice try though. Keep living with the idea that the team you saw against Jacksonville is the one you think you will see forever, I’ll keep believing the team that waxed your ass twice is the one we will see for a while.

Oh yea, and Ryan Clark running his mouth about this not being a rivalry at all because a rivalry would entail beating you guys, which was obviously something the Ravens have never done before.
But that wasn’t running his mouth, Tomlin would never allow that sweet cheeks.

Did you notice that Woodley and Clark weren’t heard from again for the rest of the season in that manner? Did you notice Anthony Smith….well…ever again?
Whens the last time you’ve heard a Steeler player call out their coaches and players like Suggs (multiple times)? I remember one…Willie Parker, in what would be his final season with the team.

That line has winner written all over it. Almost as good as basically telling your team they can’t go to the Super Bowl if they don’t beat the Steelers and get home field advantage. Maybe they should hire a separate consultant to do the coaches job in the playoffs?

But they do control their own, and I’ll take Tomlins metered, wisdom-laced, fourfold style to your head coach’s any day. Nothing to respond to there, it’s opinion.
But opinion backed up by being 2-0 in AFC championship games, while your whiny, fearless leader is a solid 0-2. But he’s fiery, so roll with it.
And Woodley’s statement? Truth hurts. I imagine especially bad right now. I won’t lie: seeing Raven fans in anguish is awesome.
(side note: anyone see the YouTube video of Fat Ravens Fan jumping up and telling everyone to leave his house after The K-K-K-Kick? Awesome. Such pain. But he should have known…“Never go full retard.”)

he’s prolly gonna fall flat on his face like the other coaches mentioned in this thread have done since leaving baltimore
Na, Pagano is different than guys like Rex Ryan and Mike Nolan. This guy is brilliant, fiery and ready for this position. He fell into a great spot as well. He is going to get a hell of a QB and build the defense the way he wants to. He gets to start from scratch with a roster that does have some pretty good talent on it if he can keep them all around.
The Colts are going to do a full 180.

Right.
For a first time head coach, he won’t be building a defense AND working with his ripe new QB AND dealing with the tortured schizo fanbase that will be Indianapolis fans.
If he even sniffs 6-10, I’d be flippin amazed. And that’s in year two.

that also says a lot about the tired old criticism of Manning about “choking in the playoffs” The real statement should be “one man can only cover up so much”
Can I get some hot sauce for my doughnut?
But that one man was holding the team hostage with his salary
They had to pay him and the weapons around him so much more money than the defense, which left a hug void on their team. They actually have had a lot of good defensive players over the years, but they weren’t able to keep them because Peyton and the offense commanded so much money.
Thats why they need to move on and draft Luck. It’ll eventually help them shore up the entire team by spreading the money around, not just the offense.

Dwight Freeney off the edge at OLB isn’t much different then Freeney wide from the DE position. regardless of scheme he need to draft bigger guys on that D-line that stop the run first.
