Barring setbacks, it appears Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley will be available Sunday when the Steelers take on the Bengals in a critical AFC North game.
Wednesday appeared to be another typical veteran's extra day of rest, something common for Mike Tomlin's Steelers.
The absence of names was more prevalent than the presence of others. Outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley is not on the injury report, meaning he practiced fully Wednesday after missing Week 6 with a hamstring injury.
With only four days between the games in Week 5 and 6, it wasn't surprising Woodley couldn't play in the 26-23 loss at Tennessee, but getting him back and healthy for Week 7 at Cincinnati is a big boost for a sagging Steelers team.
It's not uncommon for players to take Wednesday's practice off while fully participating the rest of the week and the upcoming game. It'd be a huge surprise if Polamalu played Sunday, and we've mentioned conflicting reports whether Pouncey should or should not play. Gilbert was seen leaving the practice facility Monday in a walking boot, generating some doubt over his availability.
Rookie Mike Adams would make his first career start if Gilbert can't play, and veteran Doug Legursky would go for Pouncey after basically starting in Week 6. Pouncey was injured on the first play of the game, and was replaced by Legursky.
