London Fletcher's streak of 231 consecutive games played in jeopardy in Week 8

The NFL's iron man is reportedly having issues with his balance as well as a right hamstring injury. WR Pierre Garcon is also likely to miss Sunday's game.

It's not the kind of thing the Steelers would like to be associated with, but Redskins linebacker London Fletcher did not practice Wednesday, and according to Hogs Haven, is seeing a neurologist because of "balance issues" the veteran is having.

If he doesn't play Sunday at Pittsburgh, his streak of 231 consecutive games played streak, the second-longest among active non-kickers and punters in the NFL, would come to an end.

Tampa Bay's Ronde Barber would be the NFL's leader if Fletcher cannot play. Barber has played in 230 consecutive games, as he and Fletcher have been neck-and-neck for a while now, but Fletcher leads due to Tampa Bay's bye in Week 5.

Fletcher has been one of the most consistently outstanding linebackers in the game over the course of his 15-year career that started in 1998 with the St. Louis Rams.

From there, he played in Buffalo for five seasons before signing with Washington in 2007. He has 1,855 tackles, 19 interceptions and 19 forced fumbles in his career.

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon will likely miss Sunday's game with a ruptured ligament in the bottom of his second toe on his right foot. Garcon, a free agent acquisition from Indianapolis in 2012, has played in only three of Washington's seven games this season.

To replace tight end Fred Davis, who tore his ACL in the Redskins' Week 7 loss to the Giants, they signed free agent Chris Cooley. The franchise's career receptions leader was cut this preseason.
