Leftwich has to have a perfect team to be decent and we are far from that. Batch is a much better game manager who can overcome some if the idiotic coaching decisions that come up. He can make any throw under pressure, knows when to get rid if the ball and can Excel at the short touch game and hit the long ball in stride. I'm not sure what games recently the Leftwich leftover lovers are watching but a 65 year old Charlie Batch is better than a young Leftover ant day. In fact Batch is more mobile than Leftwich and is one if if not the most experienced backup in the league. He is our best hope not Leftwich. Why they let Hereof Johnson go I don't know as they knew they needed to start grooming a younger option. Be had all the physical gifts just needed some grooming. Look I'll be the 1st to admit if Leftwich gets us to the playoffs and we win with him. His wind up is way too long for todays speed and he's never been a soft touch passer in this new style quick release offense if Haleys. Batch is the hometown guy who has more to prove and lose than the well traveled and passed over Leftwich. Batch has more vested in the Steelers tradition than Byron. Hopefully Ben will be back soon and will st least not feel the pressure of playing vs welcoming his new child into the world.
