If Jonathan Dwyer will make it three straight games rushing for 100 yards, it won't be Sunday when the Steelers play the Giants in East Rutherford.
Dwyer, the team's leading rusher, injured his quariceps in Pittsburgh's 27-12 win over Washington in Week 8, and has been limited in practice this week. Redman, the team's starter to begin the season, practiced fully after missing the team's last two games with an ankle injury.
Mike Bires of the Beaver County Times says both Dwyer and Mendenhall will be listed as doubtful, but neither will play Sunday.
With an offensive line that appears more comfortable with each play, Dwyer rushed for 239 yards in the team's last two games. Redman has 127 yards on 50 carries and a touchdown this season. Mendenhall had some success, racking up over 100 total yards against the Eagles in Week 5 - the only game Mendenhall played all four quarter - but Redman's the running back who's been stopped for the least amount of yards in the most amount of chances.
The Giants are an athletic team among their front seven, and running isn't going to be the easiest thing for them to do, but the Steelers are going to lean on their ball control offense even more this week than in past games. Keep the Giants high-octane offense off the field will be paramount for success.
