Steelers DE Ziggy Hood is questionable for the Steelers' Week 12 game with a back injury

Due "multiple fractured ribs," Steelers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and Byron Leftwich will miss Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Even though Leftwich appeared injured, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Leftwich's injury occured late in the game.

Previous reports have been confirmed that Brian Hoyer signed a one-year contract with the Steelers and will serve as Charlie Batch's back-up Sunday at Cleveland.

On defensive end Ziggy Hood, Tomlin said he has a lumbar spine sprain, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

The prognosis is the same for wide receiver Antonio Brown (ankle) and right tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle).

Safety Troy Polamalu will run Wednesday, Tomlin said, but his status for Sunday is still questionable.

Unfortunately for the Steelers offense, QB Ben Roethlisberger won't play, but Tomlin did mention he had a test Tuesday morning, and all signs have been positive to this point.

Clearly, Roethlisberger isn't ready to play and won't until he is, by all accounts.

Keeping up with the mantra of Next Man Up, Batch will make his second start in two years.

Stay tuned for more injury news leading into Pittsburgh's Week 12 game at Cleveland.
