TE Jamie McCoy and OG Ryan Lee were released to make room for Batch and McFadden, who were released to make room for WR Plaxico Burress and QB Brian Hoyer

The Steelers' Week of Transactions continues with the release of OG Ryan Lee and TE Jamie McCoy from the practice squad to clear room for RB Baron Batch and LB Marshall McFadden.

We had initially reported Batch would not be eligible for the practice squad because he has been active for 10 games this season - the maximum a player can be active and still have practice squad eligibility is nine games. According to Steeler Depot, apparently those games will count the following season, not the current one. Batch will not be eligible for the practice squad next season.

Batch and McFadden were released to make room for WR Plaxico Burress and QB Brian Hoyer, both of whom were signed Tuesday. Upon clearing waivers, both Batch and McFadden were added, and the trickle-down hit McCoy and Lee.

Batch has 49 yards on 25 carries, along with one touchdown in the 2012 season, his second after being selected in the 7th round of the 2011 draft. He missed that season with a knee injury.
