An hour ago, Rolando McClain posted this on his Facebook wall: "Officially no longer an Oakland Raider!!"
McClain's salary in 2012 would be prorated based on $970K. 2013: $4.005 million. 2014: $5.805 million. Originally had $23 mil in guarantees.
Raiders MLB Rolando McClain had his misdemeanor assault charges in Alabama dropped. McClain was sentenced to six months in jail after the May incident, but now he faces no jail time and is in no danger of being suspended by the NFL. McClain has been solid in run defense this season but has lost snaps to WLB Miles Burris in passing situations.
Pick Analysis: The selection of Rolando McClain came as a surprise to some, but it's a sensible pick based on the Raiders' struggles against the run. McClain is a stout "Mike" linebacker with exceptional instincts. He gives Oakland a more physical presence inside. With the Raiders not satisfied with Kirk Morrison's play, the decision to add McClain was a reflection of a desire to improve the middle of the defense.
Are we interested in him? When he was coming out, he was the next sure thing. Is he still worth a chance? Adding him to Timmons and Spence (next year) would make all our ILBs young and fast. He is good against the run, Spence is good in coverage, Timmons stay out on all downs.......
What do you guys think?
