I read Yahoo news and keep up to date with their sports writers cause I like some of the entries and enjoy reading about the Steelers from the perspective of the national media. I love the Steelers and am insanely biased toward them but I try to remain open about the excitement and disappointment week to week from an outside perspective. Its the only way, for me, to remain sane. Keeping everything in perspective. I read something today in reaction to the game last night.
Now I know we all say the Steelers don't get any respect and I've tried my best to keep this feeling in check because, in all honesty, I like feeling like an underdog and after being a fan for my whole life I've noticed the Steelers seem to play better as underdogs than heavy favorites.
They beat the world champions on their home turf, when the Giants had everything to play for. Granted, not under the best and most comfortable circumstances leading up to the game but that disadvantage, I feel, was negated by the fact that the Steelers travelled on the day of the game.
Doesn't beating the Giants warrant at least a discussion on Yahoo? Shouldn't Isaac Redman be one of the "Winners of Week 9"? Instead the only mention of the Steelers on any article not explicitly written for that game was the following
Under Jason Cole's Winner/Loser of Week 9
• I've said it before, but it bears saying again after Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark's latest personal foul, this time on New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz: Clark is a dirty player. It's sad because Clark is a good person and a good player in so many ways, but this is getting beyond ridiculous. Clark wasn't attempting to make any play on the ball and was simply going for a shot at Cruz after the pass had already been broken up by Ike Taylor. Simply unacceptable.
My head almost exploded..
