I am 40 and have been a Steelers fan since about age eight. I somewhat remember Mel Blount and Donnie Shell; that is my starting point of Steeler DBs. I am usually hoping they draft a DB most years who ends up being good for the team. The Steelers appear, year after year after year to either draft great LB'ers or plug them into the system. Why is it that this great organization rarely figures out how to pick a corner? Rod Woodson was great, Chad Scott got turned around all day long, DeWayne Washington (got him from Vikings, I think) was terrible, Willie Williams was short, Keenan Lewis is looking like he may be a keeper & Ike Taylor is solid. Remember Delton Hall? What a nut! DJ Johnson was ok opposite Woodson. Troy is fantastic, but his health the last few years has not allowed him to be on the field much. Ryan Clark is my favorite Steeler, love the way he blows people up! Guess I just think that DBs (specifically corners & nickle & dime guys) have been a huge problem for the last 30 years of my life & I can not understand why the Steelers have kept missing on their selection of this specific position.
