A nice look at a rolling trend in which the Steelers have shown a good level of success; opposing QB passer rating. Stats show a strong correlation between the strength of a team passer rating and a passer rating against. The Steelers have a team passer rating of 88.1, and a rating against of 80.6. Not exactly striking fear in the hearts of the league, but as the chart shows, there was a long run of outstanding defensive performances. - nc
Passer rating-against is a revealing stat when looking at a team's overall success. I put this chart together looking at how opposing QBs have done against the Steelers D.
The Steelers md-season run of success coincides with the return of James Harrison, but Harrison really only starting making his presence felt the last four weeks or so, and obviously the Steelers haven't chalked up many wins.
I've been arguing that LeBeau starting disguising his schemes more starting with the Cincinnati game when Ike and the D shutdown A.J. Green. We'll see if they can do it again this week.
