Steelers vs. Ravens Second Half Open Thread: Ike Taylor out for Steelers

Patrick Smith

Steelers offense non-existent, leading Baltimore to a 13-3 lead heading into the second half.

It was written about all week - the Ravens have no reason to respect the Steelers' offense.

And they certainly won't with Pittsburgh's middle four possessions of the first half resulting in three consecutive three-and-outs and an interception by Antonio Brown (an instant nomination for the least intelligent playcall in franchise history).

Fill-in starter Charlie Batch isn't throwing poorly - although he missed a wide open Mike Wallace in the end zone at the end of the first half - but the offense is completely out of rhythm.

Baltimore is responding by throwing deep every other play, looking to bump the lead up high enough where the Steelers could have five quarters and not mount a comeback.

Adding injury to insult to injury, the Steelers lost cornerback Ike Taylor early in the game, and is without shoulder pads on the sideline, leg in a boot, clearly not to return today.

The Steelers are down several players, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who will without a doubt play in Week 14 against San Diego. Batch hit Wallace on the hands on a nice deep pass at the end of the half but Wallace dropped it.

Steelers will get the ball down 13-6 in the second half.
