Few could see a win was at hand
But it happened this day and I say it was grand.
To watch the vast purple flecks of the crowd
Silenced, Stunned. Their smugness was drowned.
Good Ol' Charlie had stolen a win
And left as fast as he had come in.
His joy and confidence were high and flying
While the players and fans of purple were crying.
How could this be? Why did this occur?
This is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Why, they're better than the Birds.
This was a Steelers win in December
They did it in the Ravens house so all could remember.
So take that towel from off of your head
The Steelers are alive, not deceased like you said.
Without Big Ben, they said it couldnt be
But the win did come by a margin of three.
Not this time, Ravens. Not so fast.
Your coach and your players were out-coached and out-classed.
It was an elite effort but your hearts were stabbed again
Because this Pittsburgh squad killed you, sans Ben.
This day will always be a game to love
I wouldnt trade it for anything; not even for gloves.
A twirl of the towel and a tip of the hat
To the players, coaches and our man Charlie Batch!
Happy December, Steeler Nation!
