Heading into Sunday's Week 14 game against the San Diego Chargers, the Steelers have momentum on their side. The Chargers - losers of seven of their last eight games - are reportedly about ready to fire their head coach, Norv Turner, and A.J. Smith, their general manager.
These issues weigh heavily on an otherwise talented team, but injuries have brought a team once figured to factor into the AFC West title race (a race already won by the Denver Broncos) to depths they haven't seen in quite a while.
The strength of the opponent means nothing, however, as the Steelers need to win this game to keep pace with Cincinnati in the chase for the last wild card spot in the AFC, and to keep the barely-flickering light of an AFC North title burning.
