Serious crossroads in regards to the Haley offense

Today was absolutely pathetic showing on the part of the Steelers against San Deigo. Now we have to cross our fingers that the Bengals--that's right the Bengals--do not ride their winning streak to the end. Now I am not a doom and gloom fan. I have been a die hard Steelers fan since for over 20 years and seen them endure the years of "SLASH." I hate the fact that the Rooney familty allowed the Steelers to hitch their wagon to the falling star that is the Haley dink and dunk screen pass offense. It is so predictable and uproductive. The run game suffers from this as well, for as today showed the predictable up-the-middle running that neets "positive two yards" is not consisteng enough to win games. Big Ben's greatest strength is his ability to extend plays when a sack is imminent. With this offensive scheme, the WR are hamstrung by not being able to do effective scramble drills to help out Ben, for they are stuck in the zone 10 yards within line of scrimmage. If the Steelers are really serious about staying with this offensive scheme, then they are gonna have to blow up the WR and RB unit and rebuild it with players much more in line with this scheme. We all know what that means. Welcome to the 1980s all over again and the rise of Baltimore as the perrenial AFC North leader.
