I took a look at our picks in 2008 and the only players on the team to contribute at a high level has been Mendenhall. Mundy was the last pick and has contributed some value. I would love to know who was selected after Mendenhall, Sweed, and Davis in the 1st 3 rounds? I wonder who was held responsible for that draft class besides Colbert and Tomlin? Is BA fingerprints on this, with his famous "give Ben more weapons to work with"?
I think we all agree that Mendenhall at the time was seen as an impress pick and I think we now understand why he dropped to us. He's the easiet RB to tackle with the worst vision at finding alternate holes. I think Deion Sanders was sizing him up for a tackle. No more comments on the 2nd and 3rd round choices of Sweed and Davis.
I'm hopeful this draft yields at least 2 starters on the line or at ILB.
