Well a couple years back when i was stationed in Texas, during the month of February, I purchased a slew of 'blacksploitation' films in honor of black history month and kind of as a joke being stationed with a bunch of country boys (I'm 1/2 black, 1/2 white kind of the almost token black guy at the station). Well in this collection of movies i acquired, among them were the almost popular titles of Dolamite, Petey Wheatstraw, The Last Dragon, Blackula, and the list goes on. If you have ever seen any of these then you have probably considered plucking your eyes out with sandpaper, and the only thing stopping you was the sheer laughter at how bad these movies were. Well among these was a DVD that was 7 dollars but had 15 movies enclosed in it. Thankfully i bought it.
During a slow duty weekend me and my buddy decided to torture ourselves while getting a good laugh by watching almost all fifteen movies in that DVD set. Well needless to say Mean Joe Greene was in two of these movies, "The Black SIx", and "Lady Cocoa". In the Black Six he was the strong man in a black biker gang that came into town to help the young black high school students against the angry whites in the community (seeming to be a common theme of these movies). Needless to say he took down a wooden shack by pushing the support pillar in the middle of it across the room, definitely his shining moment in the movie, and i think he only said two words in the whole thing. In Lady Cocoa he was the bad guy or something. I never watched the whole thing because, well humans evolved at a faster rate than that movies plot developed. Either way it was pretty funny and kind of trivial and thought i would share with you guys.
