We're going to make a thing about announcing series we're doing.
The name of this one pretty much says it all. While players vying for starting or role positions don't compete directly in physical combat or anything, each snap they take is a chance to show they're better than the other one, as well as it being a snap that other player isn't on the field doing the same thing.
Steelers fans have had the luxury of watching great running back battles for the last few years. From the ashes emerged the likes of Willie Parker, Gary Russell and, of course, Isaac Redman.
We've seen Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders do battle for that one bone Steelers coach Mike Tomlin always talks about.
There are a few guys to keep eyes on when training camp starts barely over one month from now. We're going to highlight those players and the battles they have in front of them. This takes into consideration their time with the team (an advantage of familiarity), price (some contracts just can't be kept) and practice squad eligibility (some guys will be cut because of this).
Expect to start seeing those Wednesday.
